Together, we’re helping Taranaki tamariki and rangatahi reach their potential. Our sights are set on 100 Boosts annually, and we’re getting close! That’s 100 opportunities each year to back potential, remove barriers, and help local young people thrive.
Last Thursday, we celebrated the success of the programme.
We heard the inspiring stories of Tom, Nathan, Jerome (shared by his dad), and Risha (read by Jordan), each sharing how the ‘boost’ funding has eased pressure, opened doors, and created meaningful change in their journeys.

Josh Hickford, Taranaki Foundation, announced some incredible news – with your support, we’re now able to boost five applicants every month. (previously four)
That is 60 young people each year getting $500 to chase their dreams.

Jordan McFadyen, Done By Nine, presented the overarching marketing strategy – including ongoing digital billboard campaigns with MAD Media designed to amplify reach, strengthen brand awareness, and gain more partners.
And, Brendon Back, Taranaki Steelformers, shared the origin story of how Taranaki Youth Boost (originally Steelformers Youth Boost) came to be.

To wrap up the evening, we enjoyed delicious burgers and refreshments generously supplied by McDonald’s New Plymouth. A fitting way to celebrate the success so far — and the exciting momentum still to come.
