This grant will play a huge role in helping Deja pursue his passion for League and take the next step toward turning it into a career.

The funding will go towards his travel to Australia, where he’ll have the chance to play against some of the best league schools, get in front of NRL recruitment agents and clubs, and experience that next level of competition alongside others who live and breathe the sport. Since starting his League journey, he has dedicated himself to training — from strength and conditioning sessions to skills and sprint work, joining multiple teams and academies, and traveling for opportunities. The financial commitment can be challenging for his parents, so any support that helps relieve that pressure means a lot. Thanks to Taranaki Youth Boost, he’s now one step closer to achieving his dream.
